DRS4/HDMD™ Fluorescence

Med X Change has partnered with Leica Microsystems and now provides Leica with the DRS4/HDMD with FL800 (Interpretative fluorescence) video recording technology. Med X Change’s Recording systems communicate with the Leica microscope which triggers the switching of the white light camera (SD or HD) to the NIR camera that shows the fluorescence agent circulating via blood flow. All of this information is displayed on the microscope monitor via the Med X change software interface.

As described from the Leica Microsystems website, this technology offers great advantages:

“The Leica FL800, for fluorescence-based angiography, provides state-of-the-art integrated vascular fluorescence. Surgeons can now determine the patency of vessels during surgery directly through the surgical microscope eyepieces or on a video monitor.

Leica Microsystems has received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the Leica FL800 integrated vascular fluorescence for heart, plastic, and neuro surgery procedures.

The Leica FL800 is used in conjunction with IC-Green™ (Indocyanine Green) fluorescence agent to view cerebrovascular blood flow.”
